RegDefense Review – The Perfect Registry Cleaner Software

Tuesday, August 16th, 2011

One of the common reasons for your computer to become inoperative is the viruses crashing it down. If the antivirus programs fail to detect such a problem, then the problem lies in the registry, which you may solve only through a registry cleaner. You need to get software, which works best with the registry making your computer work smoothly.

In recent times, many software programs are available for assisting you with cleaning the computer’s Windows registry. RegDefense is one such software, which works well in this regard and offering the best registry cleaning. This software provides you with enough benefits and is ideal.

RegDefense offers a user-friendly interface for computer users. A few mouse clicks get you into scanning as well as cleaning options. So simple is the interface that it allows the users to operate and set-up all available tools for recovering the lost performance and speed of their computer.

Windows registry may often appear tricky and lead to confusion. Experts have developed RegDefense application for analyzing the problematic registry sectors and thereby suggesting ways for resolving the identified issues.

Another benefit of this registry cleaner is that it shows compatibility with the 64-bit operating systems. Many other registry cleaners available are for working on the 32-bit operating systems. Computer users with 64-bit operating systems will not face any installation problems of RegDefense.

One more benefit as with using RegDefense is that on using this software continuously, users will enjoy maximum protection as well as monitoring for future computer-related issues. You may schedule the application for running at a time when your computer is idle and you are away from it. For this reason, you may monitor the system daily for detecting and fixing identified errors, as part of the computer-maintenance schedule.

Lastly, RegDefense is possible to install on as many computers depending on how much license is bought for it. It means that computer users may make use of a single license for a number of computer systems depending upon the license package that you bought. Like this, you may make use of this registry cleaner for multiple computers.

Sunlight Readable Monitors Are Great Solutions For Outdoor Careers

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011

As technology continues to advance it becomes more and more dependent upon in certain industries. Industries that work in manufacturing warehouses, construction workers, armed forces and many more work all across the world in different temperatures and climates so technology has to adapt. Well indeed it has, we can work from just about anywhere on the planet.

Since the boundaries of our careers are small, professions outdoors seem to be the most interesting. To accomplish the limited power sources for those of us who work outdoors, batteries are a wonderful thing. Now the only other obstacle is battling the sun in more ways than one.

Professions such as construction even then armed forces have to put up with the heat during select seasons of the year and if it’s not the heat they battle the glare from the sun. If anyone has tried to look at their phone or laptop while outdoors you would understand how hard it is to see any type of display without shading it. To solve this issue, manufactures of display systems have found a way to make sunlight readable monitors.

These monitors are also equipped to put up with many other natural enemies of Mother Nature.

- Sealed for liquid proof protection along from dust and other contaminants.

- Rugged metal frame to protect the contents inside from blunt contact.

- Vibrant display of LCD Resolution

- Protective glass that won’t crack when struck or dropped.

- Exterior connections are environmentally sealed from dust and dirt.

To perfect the sunlight readable monitors some manufacturers have gone beyond just increasing the back light brightness. They went ahead and added a highly reflective back light that reflects ambient light back out of the monitor. This addition doesn’t require any additional power which means there is no need for additional cooling units.

Word of advice, make sure the manufacturer isn’t over driving the back lighting lamps as this will decrease the life span of the monitor from around 50,000 hours to 20,000 hours. Once it reaches this 20,000 hour mark the lighting will decrease by half and 1-5% every 1,000 hours after that.

These sunlight readable monitor displays are available in any size and should come with a 50,000 hour warranty. When consulting with a display retailer make sure to ask questions like:

- Are you using Value-added services for your back lighting?

- Are you over driving the back lighting by making the monitor sunlight readable?

- Will this display system last more the 50,000 hours?

- Is there any type of warranty with the display system?

Hopefully this helps anyone who is interested in purchasing sunlight readable monitors. Just remember they are not all created equally, so make sure your getting the most for your money before you purchase these display systems.

Understanding Computer Software

Thursday, July 28th, 2011

Spyware is malware that is employed in a computer or mobile phone to keep track of all the activities that take place. The presence of spy software is typically hidden from the user and cannot be detected easily. It is used as means of protection to your personal computer and lets you know who is misusing your hospitality.

Among the various computer software, spy software is among the few extremely essential types of software that are installed in a computer. One of them is the key logger that enables you to keep track of all keyboard activities that have taken place and secretly records your passwords and all the keystrokes that have been pressed in your absence. The CEOs can take full control of their computers while working and concerned parents can easily track their children’s activities. Internet cafĂ© owners can keep see what their customers have been up to by using key loggers. Some of the well know software key loggers that are in use are Activity Logger, Boss Everyware, Spector Pro, HookDump, IamBigBrother, Invisible Key Logger Stealth, iOpus STARR, iSpyNOW,, KeyKeeper, KeyKey, KeyLog, KeySpy, Keystroke Reporter, KeyCopy PC Spy, Perfect Keylogger, ProBot, Ghost Keylogger Realtime Spy,, SpyAgent, SpyBuddy, WinWhatWhere Investigator. There are some more important spywares like coolwebsearch, internet optimizer, huntbar, movieland, mywebsearch, etc which are in vogue.

Despite of various doubts about its uses, spy software’s are most effective if you are trying to keep a record of the activities of a person. Not only does spy software monitor the activities of a computer it can also keep an eye on mobile phones. So if your teenage daughter is texting or you suspect your spouse to be cheating on you all you have to do is employ spy software. With the progressive trend of sex talk and mature activities among teenagers parental control has been mandatory in various spheres of your teen’s life. You may be surprised to know that you can also keep a track of your employee’s activities and have full control over your staff members.

Recover Formatted Partitions Even Without an OS

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

When faced with a problem of data loss there are some things that you should first take note of. To recover formatted partitions from a hard drive that has an operating system and is working is relatively simpler than doing so from a drive that no longer has a working operating system in it. Do not also try and perform a reinstall if you have critical data on your hard drive. The first thing that you should try if your drive has no working OS is connect it to another computer using a hard drive case that you can acquire from any shop.

You can also doctor an external hard drive and fit your hard drive in the external casing to connect it. Once connected boot up the other computer and check in the device manager if the drive and any partitions show up. It’s a good sign if they do. You can try and open the partitions and see if you can recover the data. If not download and install data recovery software from the internet onto that computer, scan the external drive and you should be able to recover formatted partitions from here.

The third case involves the use of a DOS boot disk. There if software available in the market that is even compatible with a DOS based platform and they will help you run a scan of your hard drive. A scan will also reveal what sectors on your drive are recoverable. From the next time that you reinstall an Os on that drive make sure that the infected partition is not the local dick for your OS to prevent any future problems. Even if all this fails you can still recover formatted partitions from a data recovery expert. In some cases if the hard drive has any form of physical injury then it may not be possible to use the drive even if you are able to recover formatted partitions. Keep a USB flash drive or another drive handy so you can store your data immediately onto the secondary source.

How to Effectively Use Antivirus Software Program to Protect Your Computer From Threat and Damage

Monday, July 25th, 2011

This is always an important aspect for anyone on how to run my computer safely, neatly and with high PC speed. How do anti virus programs help protect my computer and your own PC as well? And where can one get expert reviews and guides to download such internet and computer security antivirus programs which are well compatible with the current operating system running on your PC and also have Microsoft certification of authenticity to offer you and your digital world the required security against this current wave of computer virus-worm-Trojan-spyware-malware causing security threats.

From the click of a computer mouse through the navigation of the internet and saving and accessing your files and folders in your computer laptop or desktop or even hand held PDAs, virus awaits at each stage to get itself inserted in one or more root files in your computer. The end target of any computer virus, Trojan horses, and malware, spyware and computer worms is to literally deceive and as well command the computer to run or execute the virus dangerous program which will finally crash the computer or its part such as the hard disk drive (HDD) or to lose your important files and data and above all make your PC run annoyingly slow, which we have reviewed how to fix the errors and speed up the PC by registry key sanitization. But much thanks to the antivirus programs that have so well been configured to give us complete security package when properly and effectively put in use as we will share with you most of our expert review guides in this aspect of computing and computer usage.

Software installed as computer antivirus programs does a scheduled and in-depth scanning of your computer for viruses, Trojans, computer worms, malware and spyware. This scan covers e-mails and e-mail attachments, and other numerous files, folders in various part of your PC including the desktop environment, my documents folder, LAN and other networks and other partitions of your local hard disk. If a virus, malware, spyware, adware or Trojans are detected the antivirus program in use cleans the file, quarantines the virus, or entirely deletes the file and the virus before it causes error in your PC and thereby slow the speed of your computer.

Many and very good antivirus programs are currently in use and available all over the internet for your registration and download. Such include the likes of Norton antivirus, MacAfee antivirus, Eset smart security, Nod 32 antivirus, AVG antivirus, Rising, and numerous other spyware-adware removing software and registry error fixing tools for increasing the speed and optimization of your PC functionality as we reviewed below.

The good aspect of these antivirus programs is their ability to update automatically and this is to make sure that new viruses and threats are checked and your computer be protected against such virus and other new attacks. If your antivirus is not built for automatic updates, do check for updates on frequent basis because new viruses emerge every day. If your antivirus requires subscription, do keep it current to receive updates. If your list of viruses is out of date, your computer is vulnerable to new threats and attacks.

One important action to take is to make sure that your antivirus program is turned on and up to date before you download any e-mail attachment. This gives the antivirus program access to do an in depth scan of the e mail attachment with the highest chance of protection.

Communicating With Your Computer Repair Professional

Saturday, July 23rd, 2011

Once you have decided to hire a local computer repair professional, you must figure out exactly what your computer’s problem is and how to explain it to the professional. Don’t worry if you don’t know where the issue or issues are coming from, just be sure you can talk about how your PC is malfunctioning. To say, “My computer doesn’t work” will not give your computer repair professional much to start with. You don’t have to be an expert to observe how your computer is operating. It’s extremely helpful to write down any error messages or specific problematic events so that you will have some sort of information on what might need to be fixed. Follow these tips to ensure that the professional you hired to fix your computer has a good understand or at least an idea of what the problem could be.

Plan to be Prepared; Before you visit or call

Before you pick up the phone to call a computer technician or decide to drop your computer off, it’s important that you’re prepared to explain your computer’s problem. When you’re prepared, you’ll be able to best describe the problem to the computer repair professional which will help he or she understand clearly, meaning that you’ll end up spending less on getting your computer fixed. The specific information you will need to have will vary depending on what your problem may be, but here are a few things to think about:

* If an error message comes up: What is the exact error message on the screen?

* If there is no error message: What exactly is the computer doing?

* When did the problem start occurring?

* Did anything else happen at the same time the problem started? (ex. Virus warning, blank screen, no sounds, etc.)

* What have you already done to try to fix the problem?

* Has the problem changed since it first started? (ex. Freezing more frequently, additional error messages, etc.)

Be sure to write everything down before you call or visit the computer repair professional.

Communication is Key

Communication is the most important factor in proper description of your computer’s issue to a computer repair professional. The whole purpose of your visit or phone call is to communicate with the professional about what the problem is so he or she can best resolve the problem.

Regular communication rules are used here just like anywhere else in life: Be sure to speak slowly, enunciate properly, and be polite! If you’re on the phone describing your problem, try to call from a fairly quiet area. Screaming children or barking dogs will make it difficult to explain your problem.

Tips to Get Better Results While Refilling an Already Refilled Printer Ink Cartridge

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

Printer ink cartridges, at least the original ones, are notoriously expensive. This is why it is not really surprising that a lot of printer users opt to buy generic ink cartridges. If not that, then they take their empty cartridges to ink refill stations or buy ink refill kits to minimize their printing expenses.

If this is the route you have decided to take when it comes to replacing the printer ink cartridges in your printer, you can be sure to have your printer cartridges refilled at least once. But if you handle your empty cartridges carefully while refilling them, you can extend the life of your cartridges and reuse them even up to eight times. It all depends on how you handle your cartridges.

How should you deal with the task of putting printer ink refills in your empty cartridge in such a way that the printer cartridges will have extended longevity and that your printouts will not suffer in quality? Here are a few tips that can help you use and reuse your cartridges for as long as you can and expect great printing results as well.

1. Never touch the metal parts. When you handle your empty printer ink cartridges for their ink refills, you should never touch the metal parts on the cartridge. These metal parts on the cartridges come into contact with the printer head. When we touch these metal parts, we leave behind some oil from our skin.

2. Never let your cartridges bleed. Spills are inevitable when you are doing ink refills. However, if you reinsert your ink cartridges back into your printer while they are still leaking ink, you are bound to damage your printer. You run the risk of voiding the warranty on your printer if it gets discovered at the service center that the damage was caused by third-party ink refill kits. Thus, you should take care not to overfill your cartridges with ink. If your printer cartridges are bleeding or leaking ink, staunch the bleeding with paper towels. Just dab at the cartridges; do not rub the towels on them.

3. Do not procrastinate. It is sometimes tempting to procrastinate on refilling ink cartridges when you do not have anything that you need printed. You can put off refilling your empty cartridges as long as you want, but the downside here is that the ink residue in your cartridges will dry up and clog the cartridge nozzles. It is absolutely necessary for these nozzles to be clear so that ink can flow unimpeded while you are printing your documents. When you sense that your ink cartridges are about to run out, refill them as soon as possible.

Original printer ink cartridges can be horribly expensive and it can really hurt the pocket when you print pictures and documents on a regular basis. You can get away with it by buying ink refill kits or taking your empty cartridges to ink refill stations. You can even use and reuse them for as long as you can as long as you handle your empty cartridges properly.

How To Choose The Right Printer For Your Needs

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

With the cost of printer ink these days, it’s often tempting to just buy a whole new printer when your cartridges are empty. After all, you can buy a new printer for about the same amount as a set of black and color cartridges, right?

This is true, but there are several things you need to know before deciding to replace your printer, including a couple of catches that could wind up costing you a lot more money.

One of the reasons some new models of printers are so inexpensive is because their ink cartridges are quite small. This means you’ll have to replace those cartridges a lot more often and in the long run you could wind up spending a lot more.

For example, the HP 27 ink cartridge which is used in a number of HP’s current models has 10ml of ink in it. The HP 15, on the other hand has 28ml. It’s going to last almost 3 times longer and the price is not even double.

And if you have an older model that uses the HP 45, for example, that cartridge holds 42ml of ink and sells for about the same as the HP 15. It wouldn’t make sense to trade “up” to a new printer if your old one is still working fine, just because the ink costs so much. You’ll get more than 4 times the life from a new cartridge than you will with some of the new models of printers.

Another thing to consider when buying a printer is what you’re going to be printing with it. If you don’t plan on printing photos and only want black and white printing, a laser printer might be a better option than an inkjet.

They are quite a bit less expensive to operate and the print quality is better than most inkjets for black and white.

If you do want to print photos, consider how much you’ll spend on them. A photo printer can cost up to $1.00 per print by the time you consider ink and paper costs. You can get your pictures printed for much less than that at your local photo lab or on a website like Snapfish.com.

If you only want to print 4×6 photos, you might be better off buying two printers – one for your day-to-day use and a small photo printer that is designed just for printing 4×6 prints. They generally cost less to operate than their larger counterparts, and they are fairly portable if you want to be able to take it with you to make digital prints while on the go.

GPS For the Technically-Challenged

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

I have never considered myself a dummy, but there is something about the GPS that seems to be all the rage now that makes me wonder how it works or, more so, how a technically-challenged person such as myself can get it to work.

It all sort of reminds me of the story my mom used to tell me when I was growing up. She spoke, almost reverently of when her family received their first washing machine (a front loader), how they unpacked it and hooked it up and how the entire family sat in front of it, watching the glass door in awe as it filled up with water and sloshed back and forth and around and around. I used to laugh and consider her simplistic. Now I feel simplistic when I watch this little thing and wonder where I’ll end up. How exactly does a GPS work and how do I make sure I get a good one?

In the world of global positioning services, I am told that Garmin is the leader and even Garmin tells me to Follow the Leader. I do a little searching with Garmin, but it leaves me a little befuddled and I’m not so sure I want to follow any more. What is it I really need to know? How about why do I need one? Well, I have the unique distinction of having been lost at least once in every major city of the world. Thus, I take a deep breath and decide I need to brave the waters once more.

Funny enough, the government ends up being my answer. Before anyone gets too excited about that comment, let me explain. ‘GPS’ is an actual site that explains that GPS is free to anyone with a receiver (that little box that fits into the palm of my hand) and it will allow me to figure out where exactly I am or where I have been, anywhere in the world. I literally utter an “oh my goodness”, as I read that the GPS is a space-based radio navigation system. For some reason, the STAR Wars project comes to mind from the 1980’s, but no, at least, I feel like I’ve accomplished something.

So, how much is this little piece of heaven, as it were, going to cost me? It turns out not that much. I go to one of my favorite sites, Amazon and discover there are several models for less than $150. Being the impatient person I am, (perhaps that might be why I keep getting lost all over the world), I decide I want to find something local. As luck would have it, I find a local retailer of GPS and, to my amazement, discover they do something called “funfinding.” Funfinding, they tell me is like having your own personal guide in a city, through this fabulous little GPS device. “FUNfinder GPS system allows visitors to virtually hold the city that they are visiting in the palm of their hand,” I am told. It makes too much sense.

I may still get lost, as no system is fool proof. As I field tested my mom’s GPS (okay, don’t laugh, but she is better technologically adept than I), I found myself a little frustrated when that handsome little voice kept telling me to turn left, but the road had been closed for repairs and it took me a while to figure out how to reroute. I rather liked the experience, I must admit, and I know this will be yet another device that causes me a twinge of guilt because of the multitude of batteries I go through. But I figure a few batteries leaves less of a carbon footprint than driving around lost for hours. Hard to imagine I ever lived without a GPS.
